Jeff started Thomsen Construction Company in 1977 and worked as a carpentry sub-contractor and a general contractor on both residential and commercial projects through the late 80’s. In 1987 Jeff incorporated Thomsen Company and by 1990 focused nearly all of his effort on new home construction. Over the years the projects and technology used on these projects has grown exponentially. Jeff is self taught and well versed in AutoCad, Prolog (our project management and accounting software), Microsoft Project, Excel, as well as most of the other Microsoft Office programs. His father is an architect; his grandfather was a home builder and his son has his Architects license and MBA working for a Houston Developer. You could say that building and architecture is in his blood.
Kriss, aka The Wizard, has run the office since 2000 and is responsible for everything in the office, including keeping Jeff in line. Kriss has an Associates Degree in Finance from HCC and worked for 16 years as a credit manager in the petroleum industry. Her light-hearted, enthusiastic, can do attitude makes her a valuable asset to the company. Kriss also manages and schedules the maintenance and miscellaneous repairs with our clients and our sub-contractors. Kriss works to scuba dive.
Mike Timmons has been a superintendent with us since 1998. Before joining us, Mike worked for R.B. Ratcliff and Associates, a well-respected River Oaks builder, for 10 years and ran their millwork shop and field installations for 8 of those years. Mike has a degree in Architectural Construction Technology from Illinois Central Collage. Mike took a year off to help design and draft a 15,000 SF residence and is back and well versed in Auto-Cad and Revit, a 3-D modeling program.
Terry O’Day came to work for us with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Terry learned the trade as a union carpenter before working his way up from carpenter to superintendent for another high-end residential contractor. Terry managed his own millwork company for 7 years before he came to work with us in 2013. Terry is an obsessed and avid fisherman in his off time and also enjoys a novice hobby of photographing the wildlife along the Texas Gulf Coast. Which means if the fish aren’t biting, take pictures of the pretty birds!
David Boudreaux began his career as a framer in 1984 transitioning to a finish carpenter and construction manager in 2010. From 2010 until he came to work for us in 2015 David was the manager / superintendent on projects ranging from simple remodels to new and challenging residence as large as 11,000 SF. David is an active member of Southway Community Church assisting in the children’s ministry and participates in foreign mission trips. He enjoys hiking, camping, bird watching and bee keeping.
Chris Thomsen is 2nd generation for Thomsen Company. Starting in 2010, Chris has worked with each of the superintendents and played multiple roles in the field before becoming one of our superintendents. Post hurricane Harvey, Chris worked with our homeowners to recover their personal property prior to taking the house down to the studs to begin the drying out process. As our youngest superintendent, and a new father, Chris has little time for a hobby. Instead he spends his time off with his wife and daughter taking trips to the park, zoo and museums. Occasionally he gets in a round of golf or disc golf.
